How to disable password protected sharing Windows 7 and Windows 8

Following tutorial will allow you to disable password protected sharing Windows 7 and Windows 8

  1. Select Windows Start, then Control Panel, then Network and Sharing Center
  2. On the left had panel select Change advanced sharing settings
  3. You should see an All Networks option the arrow to the right should be pointing up, if not right-click the arrow.
  4. Scroll to the bottom of the page and locate Password protected sharing. Select the box for Turn off password protected sharing.
  5. Select Save

Note: You may need to disconnect the mapped network drives on each workstation and reconnect them.
